June Favourites

Hey guys! I don't think I have a bunch of favourites this month because I only had two weeks of school and two weeks of holiday. I didn't do anything during these two weeks of holiday other than lazying around at
home and thinking about stuffs as per usual. Well, even though it wasn't a productive holiday for me but I still managed to do something at least. Hehe! So... here are my favourites for this month.

Let's talk about my favourite movie for this month...

THE NOTEBOOK
Before you guys judge me, I'm going to tell you this. Yes, I'm outdated. Yes, this movie was released 10 years ago and this means that I was 7 years old back then. Yes, probably I'm the one who is left out because while everyone was having their post-depression about this movie 10 years ago, 10 years later I'm having a post-depression after watching this movie.

I was so reluctant to watch The Notebook. I have no idea why because my friends and family were telling me that it's too mushy and it is not appropriate for me to watch. Even so, I saw a lot of posts about this movie - the good reviews, the GIFs made by others and quotes from The Notebook. I was curious to watch it but yet feeling reluctant about it. I heard that many cried while watching this movie and since I am a very emotional person and I'm easily touched, I broke out of my comfort zone and watched this movie at 11 o'clock at night.

I swear to God this is one of the best romance movies I've ever watched besides The Vow. Put aside the critics of this movie, I give this a 10 out of 10! Oh my, now I know why Ryan Gosling is so popular. (He's cute, I can't deny the true fact about him)

It's a movie about a twist in an unexpected love story between two love birds that come from different backgrounds. There are never boundaries when it comes to love. If it's meant to be, it will be. I'm seriously having post-depression about this. (I haven't watch TFIOS yet, okay)

NYX ROUND LIPSTICKS

Honestly, I bought a whole bunch of them last three months and I didn't want to use it at all. I have no idea why. Maybe it's because of the large amount of lipstick collections that I currently have. So last week I told myself that I had to try these babies and I did. I definitely love Tea Rose a lot because it has a nude pink shade which I superbly love. I am all about on-the-go makeup nowadays as I'm getting lazier and lazier to put on makeup on my face. I have one in Eros which is a bright red lipstick colour.

Okay here's the thing, I don't really like the creamy texture because it doesn't last long and if your hair gets stuck on your lips, it will leave a stain on your cheeks. That's why I kinda don't like these lipsticks because I have to do the extra work to make it matte by dabbing powder or blush on my lips. I would sincerely and honestly give these NYX round lipsticks a 3 out of 5. I'm sorry guys.

But, I still love Tea Rose.

Lastly... my favourite youtuber for this month.

ZOELLA

I cannot express how much I love her and how much I ship her relationship with Alfie also known as PointlessBlog. I've been constantly watching all of her videos and I don't know why. I just can't stop watching her videos. Someone help me. What's worse is that I recently found out Alfie's gaming channel and he has a series on Sims 3 which he plays together with Zoe and oh my God, they are so cute. I can't even comprehend my feelings for them.

I envy her hair colour and especially her eyes. Her eyes are so big and it lights up when she talks in her videos. I like how clear her words are when she talks. She does the best videos ever. What I like most is that we share the same birthday month and her birthday is just the day after mine which is on 28th of March!

I can't point out which videos I love on her YouTube channel because there are too many that I would list down. If you ever need someone that can make you laugh, someone who you can relate to emotionally, shares the best things about her life and advices that you need, check Zoella out. Subscribe to her YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/zoella280390/

I love her so much. I do. If any of you haven't checked her out yet, you should because... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

So, here's to the end of my June Favourites. I apologise for the short favourites post because like what I've mentioned earlier, I didn't do anything much this month. I'll have a haul video/post coming up soon next month and also a special video of me and my beloved boyfriend too. (Shh... it's a surprise)

Lastly, to end this post I would like to wish a Happy Ramadhan to my fellow Muslim readers and to myself too. May you and I be blessed with peace, patience and happiness in this holy month of Ramadhan. Stay true to yourself, always.

Love, Delilah.

Status: Personal

OVERTHINKING SUCKS

Do you hate those nights where you can't stop thinking about your life, your existence and the things that have happened or will happen in your life? I do. There is always something, a thought in your mind and you continuously think about and it eventually gets deeper and deeper and you start thinking about the circumstances, events and possibilities that could happen. Let's just say it in a simple phrase: overthinking is a fascinating way to mess things up in your life. I very much hate it and I feel that majority feel the same way as I do.

Sometimes when you cannot take it anymore, you just cry your eyes out and you wonder why. Millions of pessimistic thoughts racing through your mind when you yourself know that it wouldn't happen but you strongly insist that it will happen and the more you think about it the more you feel like it's going to happen in reality. It sucks, doesn't it?

I wish I knew how to stop this foolish act of my brain and mind that cannot stop over thinking and evaluating about what's happening in my life. It's worse when it's time for you to sleep and suddenly your mind starts questioning stupid things. At times, you don't realise that when you overthink, it actually affects your surrounding and your relationship with others. It's like out of the blue your mind starts controlling you and you'll end up hurting others when you didn't even mean to in the first place.

For an instance, if you're in a relationship and you truly know deeply in your heart that your partner is a sincere, honest, faithful and a loyal person but when this overthinking 'illness' starts to take over your brain, your perception of your partner completely changes. Every little thing they do, you start being so suspicious and pessimistic that all of your thoughts begin to take control of your emotions thus ruining and complicating your relationship with your partner. I went through that personally and I understand if others are going through the same thing as I did.

I feel that I need some way to calm my mind down. From what I've researched, over thinking is prevalent in young and middle-aged adults and occurs mostly in women. I guess it is common but there is still a need for all of us that tend to overthink to discipline our thoughts and not let it control ourselves.

Overthinking is just a great way to ruin your day and your mood. Right?

Sigh, good night.

Love, Delilah.

Review: 2 Degree Ice Art

Hey guys. It has been a long time since I did a review on something. Today, I'm going to review on one of the favourite exhibitions happening in Singapore since 2013 which is the 2 Degree Ice Art Exhibition. It is located in the south of Singapore nearest to Bayfront MRT and no, it is not in any museum but it is a pop up indoor exhibition opposite Marina Bay Sands. Isn't that cool? Just imagine how cool it is to have a cold winter exhibition in an open area in such a hot tropical country like Singapore? Super cool.

Just to let you guys know, I will not review on the ice bar because I had to rush off to somewhere and I didn't have the time to drop by the ice bar at the exhibition. But, I heard you could smash the ice mugs after you've drink it.

On Sunday, my boyfriend decided to treat me to this exhibition because I've always wanted to go to this exhibition like almost every single time I had to talk about it and get jealous when someone posts a picture of themselves over there. Thank you my beloved boyfriend. I love you.

If I'm not wrong the exhibition was supposed to end earlier this year but they extended the closing date to 22 June 2014. Okay so, first and foremost, if you're taking the MRT, you would be confused on where to go. After me and my boyfriend alighted at Bayfront MRT, we were told by the website that we have to exit by exit A and after we got out of the MRT, we were lost. On the website, they stated the exhibition is next to Bayfront MRT so we were puzzled on where the exhibition was. To clear the air, the exhibition is on the left side of Bayfront MRT so when you are out of exit A of Bayfront MRT, turn left and walk ahead and you'll see a pop up indoor exhibition. (It is very obvious after you walk ahead)

We didn't have to order the tickets when we got there because boyfriend bought it online so I guess that's a bonus waiting time for us. He-he! We were issued winter jackets which is a must to rent for $5 each or you'll be freezing in there. There are staffs that will issue your size as soon as they see your body size. I honestly don't know mine though. What I liked was that they even helped to put it on and that was such a nice gesture from the staffs there. Thumbs up from me.

For gloves wise, there isn't any gloves issued for you but it can be purchased at $2 per pair or can be brought along if you have one at home. Afterwards, me and my boyfriend were told to take a picture before going in.

Let me tell you guys. Get ready for the coldness. It is -15 Degrees Celsius. YES -15 degree Celsius!

Upon entering the exhibition, we were stunned by the beautiful ice carvings of different country's landmarks. The first landmarks we saw were from Singapore such as the Singapore Flyer and the statues of Sir Stamford Raffles. I was definitely more impressed as soon as I walked in further into the exhibition. What caught my eyes the most was the ice carving of the Eiffel Tower. It was so beautifully done. There were landmarks from India, Japan and China too! There were also carvings of Dinosaurs, Santa Claus and many more! Not only that, the coldness started to kick in after few minutes of entering.

There is a playground too for visitors of all ages. I guess this is the main attraction for visitors there because mainly we get to experience a playground carved out of ice. Isn't that amazing? The playground surface was so smooth which I thought was so impossible to carve. Also, the height of the playground is around two storey height so you don't have to worry about it. There is two narrow slide which I think is appropriate for children and another one wide slide which you have to get a tubing in order for you to slide because it has a bump on the slide and you might not want to get your butt hurt from it.

Honestly, me and my boyfriend enjoyed it a lot even though it was a short walk around and we didn't spend a lot of time there but what was important was the fun we had. Thumbs up for the excellent exhibition and the excellent service. I give it 10/10! I definitely loved the picture the photographer took for us. In case if you guys want to buy the picture, it is for $20 each and $30 for two. Isn't that amazing? What's more interesting is that you can choose the background of your choice!

Other than that, there is a food exhibition and toilets. But, I'm unsure whether the food are halal for Muslim visitors so I guess those Muslim visitors could try and ask them? Besides all of these, if you guys wish to take a picture, it is difficult because of the gloves so it is quite troublesome to take out your gloves to take a picture with the super cold temperature that will freeze your fingers so since my boyfriend had a bluetooth camera shutter along with him, I guess we were lucky.

Just to let you guys know, this exhibition is like any typical museum exhibition where people get to showcase their art talents and don't expect Snow City in there because after all it is an exhibition. Spend your time by admiring the carvings they've made because it is so beautiful. Trust me! And having your nose numb and cold in the cold temperature is definitely worth it! It is also a great time for families, couples and friends to bond.

The exhibition will end on 22nd of June 2014. So, do head there before it ends because it is an experience that you will never forget and a chance you will never want to miss!
